Research philosophy: It refers to belief regarding way of gathering and analysing data. It can be divided into two types, that are, interpretivist and positivist (Adeinat and Kassim, 2019). Former is applicable for gathering qualitative information, while, later is vital for collecting and analysing information which is quantitative. Positivism philosophy is selected for the purpose of facilitating numerical based information in context to minimum time period.

Research approach: It refers to plan or procedure which consists broad assumptions in relevance to detailed method for collection, interpretation as well as analysis of data. There are two types of approaches for research, that is, inductive and deductive. Inductive approach evaluates qualitative data , while deductive evaluates qualitative information.

Research strategy: It can be defined as a strategy which can be applied by the researcher for the purpose of collecting information. Various types of strategies are there in research, such as, experimental, case study, survey or action research. Survey is selected for this research because it enables gathering of large population data in short span of time. Sampling- This is explained as process through which an investigators choose the representative subset of total population that could be studied for topic to draw valid conclusion. There is probabilistic and non- probabilistic two sampling methods. In present research, 30 respondents will be chosen by using the random sampling method and they are managers of company. The reason behind using random sampling method is that it gives the equal chance to chosen respondents.

Data analysis- This means a process through which the analysis of the given data and information can be carried out properly. In the given research, the use of frequency distribution analysis will be made so that the evaluation of quantitative information can be made in a proper manner. This will help a lot in ensuring that the evaluation of quantitative information can be carried out within a short period of time. With the use of this method the data will be analysed and interpreted and the conclusions and recommendations will be derived from it. The steps which are to be taken in the use of data can be identified by making the use of this particular method.

Ethical considerations- Ethics are important to be considered within research as it has to be carried out within a given ethical scope only (Romi, Cook and Dixon-Fowler, 2018). Some of the ethical considerations which are required to be followed in research are protection of autonomy of the research participants, maintaining the confidentiality of critical information gathered through the process of research, obtaining of consent for the use of data of the participants, avoiding the use of malpractices in the research. Thus in this research these ethical considerations will be considered and the required steps will be taken so that the analysis and interpretation of the research findings can be made. The use of ethical considerations is very important in the given research because by making g its use the information can be used in the correct manner.

Research limitations- In the process of carrying out a particular research, a researcher has to face different types of limitations. These limitations can be lack of sufficient sources of funds, lack of sufficient time for carrying out the research activities. Thus these will be the limitations the researcher will have to face in the process of carrying out this research effectively. The researcher will be thus required to make sure that these limitations are avoided and the appropriate steps are taken to make the research successful for deriving of conclusions and recommendations.

From above it has been identified that employee relations are also referred to as industrial relations that are concerned about emotional, practical, physical and contractual relationship that prevails among employee as well as employer. Employee relations are regarded as part of human resource strategy that is being designed with an intent for making effectual use of people for accomplishment of mission of the organisation. For this firm tends to make use of different strategic plans that will enable them within maintaining competitive edge within the marketplace. The employee relations program emphasise on issues that create impact on employees like work-life balance, health & sound working conditions, benefits and salaries through which their morale can be boosted as well as deliver their best while rendering their liabilities. Amplified benefits will be attained by organisation by maintaining healthy relationship with their employees. H&M will be able to attain growth and development as efficiency can be attained that in turn will lead to enhance the productivity of the latter. It becomes important that employees are motivated as when their requirements will eb acknowledged it will make them feel valued and this will lead to positive influence on the overall working of the organisation.

Apart from this, there are certain ways in which overall employee relations can be enhanced. The initial aspect is communication through which their requirements can be understood and accordingly firm can provide them motivation with an intent to enhance their performance. Furthermore, while formulation of decisions, employees can be involved, this will make them feel valued through which both the entities that is firm (might have innovative solution) and employees (feeling of importance and security) will be benefited. Employee relation can also be improvised by taking as well as giving feedback but they must be given in such manner that any entity might be demotivated and it has to be positive manner. The other aspects include training and development, inspire & reward, leadership opportunities and many more.

It is identified that there can be both positive as well as negative impact on the organisation in context of kind of employee relations that are being maintained. In context of positive, that will take place when good relationship is being maintained, this comprises of enhanced motivation, higher employee loyalty, minimised conflicts within the working premises, improvised levels of trust along with confidence, better workplace culture and many more. This will have affirmative impact on the ways in which services are being delivered by the organisation. On the other hand, if negative impact is taken into consideration then if healthy relations are not kept then conflicts can take place, employees may not be satisfied, high turnover, demotivation and many more. This will lead to decline within the productivity of organisation. Thus, it becomes important that healthy employee relations are maintained that will enable them to attain desired levels of productivity as per their mission and overall goal.

The following are the recommendations to be followed in H&M for the purpose of improvement in employee productivity-

  • Through the way of giving financial incentives and motivating the people the company can make sure that it is able to ensure that people in the firm can achieve the goals and objectives effectively and efficiently. With the use of financial incentives the motivation of the people can be ensured because they will be able to improve the performance in the right manner. They will be motivated as if they improve their performance they will get additional pay for the same. In the context of H&M, the mangers can make sure that the incentives are provided on the level of performance which helps in making sure that the efficiency and effectiveness.
  • By organizing seminars and conferences in which discussions are made the management of H&M can make sure that it is able to achieve the goals and objectives as the employees will be able to enhance the productivity level by taking part in these seminars and conferences because they will get to know the information on the ways through which they are able to help in the attainment of goals and objectives of the company.
