CHICAGO style citations are the oldest and the most flexible citation. It can be done in two varieties, that are notes and bibliography, and author-date.

The more the different styles, the different the set of rules for presenting it. Some use footnotes or end-notes, whereas others may include the author's last name and publication date in brackets in the text.

MLA in-text citations follow the usual MLA format of the last name of the author accompanied by a page number surrounded in parenthesis. For example: “It may be a quote”(Smith 9).
Use the first word of the title if the author's surname is not given. Do follow the same format used in the works-cited list, like quotation marks.

In addition, the 9th edition provides page number and author's last name on parenthesis. If a source has couple of authors, name both. If a source has more than two authors, name the first author accompanied by “et al.”

An annotated bibliography is a special task that lists sources in a way resembling the MLA Works Cited list, but providing an annotation for every source giving extra information. Summary Annotation
It describes the source by answering questions like: what the document discussed, who wrote the document, and why was it produced.
Evaluative Annotation

What if I Use An Idea or a Quote Frequently in The Essay?You just have to in-text citation each time you refer to the idea or a quote. Also, you can use it as many times as needed. You only provide a single entry with publication details in the works-cited column.
What Does In-Text Citation Look Like in The 9th Edition of MLA?The last name of the author and page number are within parentheses. For instance(Thomas 76). It includes the family name of the author or page number and author. Also, no punctuation marks are needed.
Where To Put The URL in an MLA Format?It goes prior to the access date of every entry on the works-cited(bibliography).
